Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission joins World Investor Week 2026

The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) is participating in the global 'World Investor Week 2026' campaign, organized by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), scheduled to take place from October 5 to 11, 2026. This initiative involves supervisory authorities from over 100 countries working to bolster financial resilience and protect the public from increasingly sophisticated forms of digital deception and online fraud.

For the eighth consecutive year, CySEC has launched a comprehensive program in Cyprus, which includes educational presentations across elementary, secondary, and technical schools, alongside university lectures. The campaign also features a specialized social media strategy, media appearances, and the distribution of interviews to raise public awareness. CySEC Chairman George Karatzias emphasized the importance of independent research, cautioning against unrealistic promises of high returns without risk, and stressed the necessity of dealing exclusively with licensed professionals.

This campaign addresses findings that the public in Cyprus faces significant difficulties in timely identification of online scams. As part of its broader mandate, CySEC continues to prioritize consumer education to mitigate these risks and improve investment discipline across the nation.
