New board of directors appointed for the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra Foundation
The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra Foundation (CYSO) has officially announced the appointment and inaugural meeting of its new board of directors. Following an initial appointment by the Council of Ministers, the board members convened to elect their executive officers. Marios Ioannou Elia serves as the president, with Panikos Georgoudis elected as vice president, Dr. Stalo Georgiou as secretary general, and Giorgos Thoukydidis as treasurer. The remaining board members are Marianna Galidi, Athina Kythraiotou, Giorgos Papageorgiou, Charikleia Strouthou, and Olympios Christofi.
Reports indicate that the final board composition includes two adjustments compared to the initial government announcement. Following the inaugural meeting, the new leadership held a formal meeting with Deputy Minister of Culture Klea Hatzistephanou-Papaellina and General Director Giorgos G. Papageorgiou to discuss institutional goals. The new management team has expressed a commitment to fostering internal cooperation and collective effort to support the organization's cultural objectives. This transition marks the beginning of a new operational chapter for the foundation as it seeks to align its strategic priorities with the current needs of the organization.
