President of the Cypriot House of Representatives visits Slovakia

Annita Demetriou, President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus, is conducting an official visit to Slovakia from October 4 to October 6, 2026. The visit was initiated following an invitation from Richard Raši, President of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. The primary agenda focuses on strengthening bilateral relations, parliamentary diplomacy, and discussions regarding the Cyprus issue.

During her stay in Bratislava, Demetriou is scheduled to hold individual meetings with key Slovak officials, including President Peter Pellegrini, National Council President Richard Raši, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Robert Kaliňák. Beyond political discussions, the program includes a humanitarian visit to the Children's Cancer Center at the National Institute of Pediatric Diseases, accompanied by Slovak Minister of Health Kamil Šaško, as well as visits to historical and cultural sites. The delegation is expected to conclude the visit and return to Cyprus on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 6.

The visit serves as a platform to deepen ties between the two nations through high-level diplomatic engagement. Following the scheduled meetings, official press briefings and a working lunch are planned to further facilitate cooperation between the respective governmental bodies.
