Cypriot fuel price observatory requires CY Login authentication
Effective September 30, 2026, the Cypriot government has transitioned the Retail Price Observatory for fuel to the centralized CY Login portal. This update mandates that all citizens must authenticate via their personal digital credentials to view real-time fuel pricing data, including daily average, minimum, and maximum costs per district and individual service station.
While the Consumer Protection Service presents this change as an effort to simplify access and enhance transparency through a unified digital tool, the move has drawn scrutiny from the public and professionals. Previously, this information was freely accessible to all users without the need for authentication. The new requirement necessitates that users log in each time they wish to check prices, even if they have already registered, and requires repeated logins across different devices.
This initiative is part of broader government efforts to digitize public services and centralize consumer information. Currently, users must utilize their CY Login credentials to access the portal. No further updates regarding potential adjustments to the login policy or the restoration of open access have been reported by the authorities involved.
