Arrest made following vehicle arson in Limassol
Police in Limassol have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with the arson of a private vehicle that occurred on September 14, 2026. The incident took place at approximately 2:30 a.m. when a car parked in the courtyard of a residence belonging to its 25-year-old owner was set on fire.
Upon receiving reports of the blaze, police and members of the Fire Service arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was completely destroyed, and subsequent forensic examinations confirmed that the fire had been set intentionally. Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, police secured a judicial warrant, leading to the suspect's arrest today. He is currently being held in police custody.
The investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Episkopi Police Station in coordination with the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (TAE). The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Limassol District Court tomorrow, where authorities will request a detention order to facilitate further questioning and judicial proceedings.
