Air ambulance wreckage found off Nantucket after losing contact
An air ambulance, a Gulfstream G100 aircraft registered to the Canadian company Latitude Air Ambulance, went missing in the early hours of Saturday, October 3, 2026. The flight was traveling from L.F. Wade International Airport in Bermuda to Logan International Airport in Boston when it lost contact with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Tracking data indicates the plane was at an altitude of approximately 23,500 feet before it began a rapid descent, reaching 11,000 feet within three minutes.
Following the loss of communication, the U.S. Coast Guard launched an extensive search operation off the coast of Nantucket, Massachusetts. Search teams have since recovered debris believed to be from the missing aircraft. The flight carried six people in total, including two pilots, a patient, and an accompanying relative. As of Sunday, October 4, the status of the six individuals remains unknown, and search and rescue efforts are continuing through the night.
