AEK Larnaca team injury update and international break status

Ahead of a friendly match against Apollon at the AEK Arena on October 3, 2026, AEK Larnaca spokesperson Kyriakos Dimitriou provided an update on the squad's condition during the ongoing international break. The team is currently missing four players, including three serving with their national teams and Trica, who is with the Romania U21 side, with all expected to rejoin training midweek.

Regarding injuries, the club faces a setback with Chacon, who will miss the upcoming match against Omonia Aradippou due to medical complications involving a screw inserted during a previous surgery. Dimitriou also addressed the fitness of other players, noting that Cabrera is not yet close to a return. Furthermore, the club is exercising caution with Amin, whose foot injury carries a significant risk of recurrence, necessitating a careful recovery approach. The club is currently navigating these challenges to maintain performance levels experienced prior to the league interruption.
