Texas barber returns over 128,000 dollars left at an ATM
On August 3, a 37-year-old barber in Lewisville, Texas, discovered a significant sum of money left behind at an ATM located outside a Bank of America branch on West Main Street. The man, who was accompanied by a 42-year-old woman, found two bags left on the machine; one contained 128,514 dollars in cash, while the second contained 19 checks.
Initially assuming the bags belonged to a nearby retail store, the man attempted to return them to the shop manager. After the manager clarified that the funds did not belong to the business, the barber immediately contacted the Lewisville Police Department to turn in the property. An investigation confirmed that a technician working for a maintenance contractor had inadvertently left the bags on the ATM after servicing the machine.
The discovery and subsequent return of the funds have garnered public attention for the man's display of integrity. The money was fully recovered and secured by the authorities, and no further criminal proceedings have been reported regarding the incident.
