Upcoming DISY elections and Limassol tram development planning

The Democratic Rally (DISY) party in Cyprus has announced an extension to the candidate selection process for its upcoming internal elections. Candidates must submit their nominations by October 26, 2026, with the official election date scheduled for November 28, 2026. Speculation currently surrounds the political intentions of Averof Neophytou regarding his participation in the process.

Simultaneously, local authorities are advancing plans for a new tram network in Limassol. Officials are currently evaluating potential routes for the system, with discussions including the possibility of connecting the tram to various key locations within the city. No final decisions on the specific pathing have been publicly confirmed as the feasibility and integration studies continue.
