Anorthosis holds friendly match during international break

Anorthosis Famagusta is set to play a friendly match against Enosis Neon Paralimniou today, October 4, 2026, at 17:00, utilizing the current international break to maintain competitive rhythm. While reports differ slightly regarding the venue—Goal News Cy identifies the match at Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium, while Cyprus Times lists it at Tasos Markou Stadium—the objective for head coach Nestor El Maestro remains consistent. He plans to utilize the fixture to assess the readiness of his squad and provide significant playing time to players who have returned from injuries or lacked opportunities during the opening four rounds of the league season.

Anorthosis has struggled during the start of the season, securing only three points from four matches. Forward Alessio da Cruz emphasized that the team must replicate the high performance level shown in their previous victory against APOEL to regain consistency. Following this friendly, the team is preparing for their upcoming league encounter against Paphos FC, where they aim to earn their second home victory of the season. The club continues to work on squad integration as they look to improve their current standing in the table.
