Anorthosis secures friendly win against ENP amid injury concerns

Anorthosis Famagusta secured a 1-0 victory over Enosis Neon Paralimniou (ENP) in a friendly match held at the Tasos Markou Stadium on October 4, 2026. The only goal of the match was scored by Rafa Lopes in the 51st minute, following a scoreless first half. The game served as a testing ground for manager Nestor El Maestro to rotate his squad and evaluate players during the international break.

Despite the win, the club faces ongoing medical concerns. Players Carlstrand, Van Rhijn, and Bergstrom were excluded from the squad due to previous discomfort and ongoing rehabilitation programs. Additionally, the team suffered a potential setback as Satin had to be substituted during the first half due to an injury that remains under medical evaluation.

Anorthosis is currently looking to improve its performance after a challenging start to the domestic season, having earned only three points from four league matches. The team is now shifting its focus toward the upcoming official league fixture against Pafos FC, scheduled for October 11, 2026, at 18:00. The medical staff continues to monitor the status of the injured players daily to determine their availability for this crucial match.
