16th International Short Film Festival of Cyprus to be held in Limassol
The 16th International Short Film Festival of Cyprus (ISFFC) is scheduled to take place from October 10 to 16, 2026, at the Rialto Theatre in Limassol. Artistic directors Keti Papadema and Diomedes Koufteros have curated a diverse program featuring an International Competition with entries from countries including Chile, Cuba, Sudan, Algeria, Norway, Spain, Iran, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Screenings of fiction, documentary, and animation films will occur nightly at 20:00, focusing on contemporary social issues and experimental storytelling.
Running concurrently, the National Competition Programme will present 13 short films highlighting Cypriot creativity. This showcase serves as a vital platform for local filmmakers to gain international recognition and explore potential collaborations. Featured works include "Free Eliza (Notes on an Anatomical Imperfection)" by Alexandra Matthaiou, "Night Shift" by Talat Gokdemir, "Sirens" by Argyro Nikolaou, "Bifurcation: Like Thunder Strike" by Andreas Lyras, "Salt" by Konstantinos Nikiforou, and "Kinds of Fathers" by Christos. The event concludes on October 16 with an awards ceremony.
