Praitori hosts annual Palouze Festival
On Sunday, October 4, 2026, the village of Praitori hosted the annual Palouze Festival, an event dedicated to local culinary heritage and traditional production methods. The celebration was held under the auspices of Frosso Georgiou, the Deputy District Officer of Paphos, who attended the festivities to engage with local residents and expatriates of the community.
During the event, Georgiou highlighted the importance of such gatherings in preserving cultural identity and passing traditions on to younger generations. The festival emphasized the role of community participation and collective action in maintaining local customs. Organizers specifically acknowledged the role of expatriates who, despite living away, continue to maintain strong ties to their village and provide active support for local initiatives.
The event was coordinated by the Praitori Community Council and the Expatriates Association. Participants showcased the process of making traditional palouze, a grape-based sweet, reinforcing the village's commitment to agricultural heritage. The success of the festival underscored the ongoing efforts to keep rural traditions vibrant as an integral part of the daily life of the community.
