Cyprus industrial turnover index increases in July 2026
In July 2026, the industrial turnover index in Cyprus rose by 5 percent, reaching 168.8 units, as reported by the national statistical service (Cystat). This growth was driven primarily by strong performance in the local market, which offset a sharp decline in exports. For the first seven months of 2026, the index showed a cumulative increase of 3.9 percent compared to the same period in 2025. The index uses 2021 as a base year, where 100 units represent the average monthly turnover.
Within the manufacturing sector, which accounts for the largest portion of the index, the turnover reached 164.5 units, marking a 4.8 percent annual increase. Notable growth was observed in water supply and materials recovery, which surged by 16 percent. Other significant sectors included mining and quarrying, which grew by 7.4 percent, and electricity supply, which saw a 3.4 percent rise. Additionally, the electronic and optical products sector recorded a substantial turnover jump of 85.3 percent in July. These figures provide a detailed snapshot of industrial activity across the island as the sector continues to show varied performance across different industries.
