Final extension announced for student welfare applications in Cyprus

The Grants and Benefits Service of the Ministry of Finance in Cyprus has announced a final extension for state student welfare applications for the 2025-2026 academic year. Eligible students can now submit or correct their applications from Monday, October 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. until Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. through the official portal at sg-yxe.mof.gov.cy.

This decision follows an audit by the Ministry, which revealed that numerous applications were not completed correctly. Specifically, some files remained in 'draft' status, others were submitted despite automated system warnings, and some were filed with the wrong government department. Authorities stated that this grace period is intended to assist those who faced unforeseen or emergency circumstances that prevented a successful submission during the initial period.

This is confirmed to be the final extension after several previous deadline adjustments. The Ministry urges families to ensure all information is accurate and submitted strictly within this new timeframe to avoid exclusion from the welfare program.
