Those who supported Christodoulides had doubts: Averof is collecting signatures, Karousos says, mentioning the mistakes made by DISY in 2021

Yiannis Karousos, Vice President of the Democratic Rally (DISY) party in Cyprus, stated that Averof Neofytou's candidacy within party procedures is a given. Karousos argued that doubts regarding Neofytou's path are raised primarily by those who supported Nikos Christodoulides in the 2023 elections. He also acknowledged past party mistakes, such as internal poll leaks, and stressed the need for sincere self-criticism within DISY to heal internal rifts and address governance issues effectively.
