Three Cypriot basketball teams launched their European campaigns on October 6 and 7, 2026. TRIA EKA AEL BC successfully opened its European North Basketball League (ENBL) season on October 6 with a commanding 79-61 away victory against Spartak Pleven in Bulgaria. The Limassol-based team dominated the game, holding a 41-24 lead at halftime and maintaining their advantage throughout the match to secure a crucial win in their group stage opener.

On October 7, the focus shifts to the FIBA Europe Cup, where Petrolina AEK and Keravnos Strovolou are scheduled to start their group stage matches at 19:00. Petrolina AEK will host Germany's Fitness First Wurzburg Baskets at the Kition Athletic Center, while Keravnos Strovolou plays at home against Estonia's BC Parnu at the Costas Papaellinas Arena. Keravnos has significantly revamped its roster for this season, incorporating new international acquisitions including Shamar Givance, Trevon Allen, Tyrn Flowers, and Nate Grimes, alongside returning veterans and local talent.
