Historic clock restored to Paphos Town Hall
On October 6, 2026, the historic clock on the facade of the Paphos Town Hall was reinstalled following a lengthy restoration period. The timepiece, which had been kept in storage for a significant amount of time, is now functional and visible once again to residents and visitors at the central city landmark.
Acting Mayor of Paphos, Angelos Onisiforou, announced the completion of the project, emphasizing that the clock serves as more than a mere timekeeping device. According to Mr. Onisiforou, such features contribute to the city’s identity and character, acting as a point of reference within the daily lives of citizens. He stated that the restoration is part of a broader effort to maintain the aesthetic appearance and vibrancy of the urban environment.
While specific technical details regarding the restoration process were not disclosed, officials indicated that the return of the clock is viewed as a meaningful intervention for the city's public space. The timepiece is currently operational and back in its original position at the Town Hall, marking the conclusion of the maintenance efforts.
