Lidl extends partnership with the International Handball Federation
Lidl has officially extended its partnership with the International Handball Federation (IHF), continuing its role as the 'Official Fresh Food Partner.' The renewed agreement encompasses the IHF Women’s and Men’s World Championships for 2027 and 2029, as well as the U20 Women’s and U21 Men’s World Championships, establishing a collaborative framework that extends through 2030.
This contract extension marks a significant milestone, as early 2027 will see Lidl and the IHF celebrate the 10th anniversary of their partnership, which began in 2017. As part of the ongoing cooperation, Lidl will continue to present the 'Best Young Player Award' and organize fan-focused initiatives, including the 'Lidl Kids' program and 'Freshness Lounge' areas. The company aims to promote physical activity and balanced nutrition on a global stage.
In addition to its IHF commitments, Lidl remains an active partner in European handball, supporting the 2026 and 2028 Men’s and Women’s European Championships organized by the European Handball Federation (EHF), along with various national federations and qualifying tournaments.
