APOEL approaches investment deal with Savvas Liasis
The Nicosia football club APOEL is nearing a formal agreement with an investment group led by Savvas Liasis, with final signatures expected by the end of October 2026. Konstantinos Petridis, a member of the club's advisory group and representative at the Cyprus Football Association, confirmed that negotiations are in the final stages with no significant obstacles remaining. The deal involves the transfer of management rights from the current company to the new investment entity.
In addition to the final agreement, the investment group is prepared to provide emergency funding exceeding one million euros to cover the club's immediate financial needs before the formal transfer is completed. The expected injection of capital will support operations during the current transitional period.
Meanwhile, Savvas Liasis has increased his public visibility regarding the club's broader activities. Following a heavy defeat for the women's football team in their championship opener, Liasis publicly expressed support for the squad on social media, emphasizing that he is closely monitoring all segments of the club, including the women’s and futsal departments, which fall under the organization's umbrella.
