Hadassah Medical Center opens in Limassol
The Hadassah Medical Center began operations in Limassol in the summer of 2026, marking the first permanent presence of the Jerusalem-based Hadassah Medical Organization in Europe. The facility focuses on advanced diagnostics, specialized care, and rehabilitation, catering to both local residents and international patients. The project is the result of a partnership initiated in 2019, with Lambros Christofi serving as the center's chairman. The facility aims to address gaps in coordinated care for orthopedic, neurological, and oncological conditions.
The official opening ceremony for the medical center is scheduled for October 15, 2026. Israeli President Isaac Herzog has lauded the establishment of the center as a vital bridge between Israel and Cyprus, highlighting the strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations across sectors such as medicine, innovation, energy, and security. The choice of Limassol as the site is strategic, leveraging the city's multicultural business environment and accessibility to provide high-level medical evaluations to a diverse patient population.
