Cyprus Rheumatology Association announces awareness initiatives for October

The Cyprus Rheumatology Association (SyReK) has announced a series of events to mark World Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases Day, which is officially commemorated on October 12. As part of these efforts, the association is organizing the symbolic walk titled "I walk with rheumatic patients" on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. in Larnaca. Participants will gather at Europe Square and walk along the Finikoudes promenade to express solidarity and raise public awareness regarding the daily challenges faced by individuals living with rheumatic conditions.

In addition to the public walk, the association is continuing its awareness campaign themed "Wear me. Always with pride." until October 18. This year, the campaign features a bucket hat as its signature item, encouraging supporters to explain their personal motivation for wearing it under the slogan "I wear it for...". These initiatives aim to highlight the urgent need for improved quality of life, equal social participation, and stronger systemic support for patients suffering from rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases in Cyprus.
