16th International Short Film Festival of Cyprus begins in Limassol

The 16th International Short Film Festival of Cyprus (ISFFC) is scheduled to take place from October 10 to 16, 2026, in Limassol. The event will be hosted at the Rialto Theatre and the newly renovated Heroes Square, organized by the Deputy Ministry of Culture’s Department of Contemporary Culture and the Rialto Theatre, in collaboration with the Municipality of Limassol.

The festival features international and national competition programs evaluated by a five-member jury led by Riina Mikkonen, executive director and programmer of the Tampere Film Festival. Beyond screenings, the festival includes parallel events such as the 'Actors × Directors Speed Dating' session on October 10 at Art Studio 55, intended to foster collaborations, and the 'Shoot’n’Run 2026' event on October 14, where student teams will produce short films in a three-day challenge.

The festival aims to showcase films that explore new narrative paths while providing workshops and meetings to bridge the gap between filmmakers and the audience. The current iteration focuses on fostering professional connections within the industry through organized informal sessions and creative workshops.
