PortAbility project hosts educational visit in Cyprus
On October 6 and 7, 2026, Cyprus hosted an educational visit for the European project PortAbility. The event was organized by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) in partnership with Frederick University and the training firm MMC Management Centre. The visit brought together representatives from public authorities, the maritime industry, academia, and vocational training organizations to address the future of the port and shipping sectors.
The program featured site visits, interactive workshops, and presentations focusing on key industry challenges including sustainability, decarbonization, digitalization, and innovation. A primary objective was to align vocational training with current labor market demands to ensure that the workforce is equipped with necessary skills for the green and digital transition of European ports. Andreas Tsouloftas, president of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the critical need for better collaboration between businesses, educational institutions, and public authorities to facilitate this development. The delegation began its activities at the Cyprus Ports Authority in Limassol to examine ongoing and future port developments.
