Larnaca EOA and KOAG cooperate to address regional housing shortages
On October 7, 2026, the Larnaca Provincial Organization of Self-Government (EOAL) and the Cyprus Land Development Corporation (KOAG) announced a strengthened partnership aimed at promoting affordable housing solutions. The agreement was reached during a meeting between EOAL President Angelos Hatzicharalambous, EOAL General Director Sofoklis Christodoulidis, and KOAG President Nikolas Diomidous.
The primary focus of the cooperation is to prioritize and expedite the licensing procedures for KOAG's development projects. By accelerating these administrative processes, the organizations aim to implement social infrastructure projects more rapidly. These initiatives are specifically designed to provide affordable housing and rental opportunities for families, young people, and low-income households.
This partnership responds to the acute housing problem currently facing the Larnaca district. Officials emphasized that the need for intervention is particularly urgent because Larnaca records the lowest per capita income among all districts in Cyprus, making accessible housing a critical necessity for the local population. The organizations intend to organize joint actions to further promote these goals in the coming period.
