Unstable air mass brings localized rain and thunderstorms to Cyprus
An unstable air mass is currently affecting Cyprus, bringing localized rain and the potential for isolated thunderstorms throughout the day on October 7, 2026. The most significant weather phenomena are expected in mountainous areas, the interior, and the southeastern regions, as confirmed by the Meteorological Service.
Temperatures are forecast to reach approximately 28 degrees Celsius in the interior and coastal areas, and 18 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains. Winds will generally blow from the southwest to northwest at speeds of 3 to 4 Beaufort, with seas remaining slightly turbulent. By the evening, the weather is expected to be mostly clear with some localized cloud cover. Temperatures will drop to 16 degrees Celsius in the interior, 18 degrees along the coast, and 9 degrees in the mountains.
Looking ahead, the Meteorological Service reports that Thursday will begin mostly clear, followed by increased cloud cover and a possibility of isolated rain, particularly in mountainous areas. Similar weather patterns are anticipated to persist through the end of the week, with Friday and Saturday expected to remain partly cloudy.
