Series of missing persons reported across Cyprus
Cypriot authorities are investigating a series of missing person cases reported between October 7 and October 11, 2026. Several individuals remain unaccounted for, including 16-year-old Sotiroula Oikonomidou (reported missing from Nicosia on October 7), 18-year-old Ayse Radzep Ahmet (missing from Nicosia since October 7), 23-year-old Dinko Asenov Goranov (missing from the Famagusta region since October 7), 17-year-old Emiliyan Yordanov (missing from Nicosia since October 7), and 30-year-old Giorgos Christofi (missing from Limassol since October 10).
Police have released descriptions and photographs of the missing individuals to facilitate public assistance. The investigation involves various regional police departments, including the Nicosia, Famagusta, and Limassol criminal investigation divisions. Authorities are urging the public to provide any relevant information via the emergency lines or the Citizen's Line (1460).
In a positive development, 13-year-old Nicole Christodoulou, who was reported missing from Nicosia on October 9, was successfully located by police officers on the afternoon of October 10. For the remaining individuals, the police continue to appeal for public cooperation as search operations remain active across their respective districts.
