APOEL hosts Nea Salamina in Cyprus League restart

APOEL Nicosia returns to domestic action today, October 10, 2026, at 19:00 at the GSP Stadium, facing Nea Salamina in the fifth round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan. APOEL currently sits with only four points from their first four matches, making a victory imperative to start their climb up the standings. Coach Nikos Papadopoulos will miss the match from the sidelines due to a suspension.

APOEL's squad features key returns, including Daniel Mancini, Marquinhos, and Alvaro Carrillo, who are all included in the squad for the first time this season. However, defender Konstantinos Laifis is officially ruled out due to a hematoma. Nea Salamina arrives in Nicosia in high spirits following a 3-0 victory over Anorthosis and expects to host a significant contingent of fans in the stadium's North Stand.

While APOEL historically maintains a dominant record at home against Nea Salamina, the coaching staff is emphasizing tactical discipline and concentration to overcome the physical and psychological pressures of this restart. Preparations have been focused on team cohesion after a three-week break, with administrative processes regarding potential investment currently ongoing, according to club spokesperson Nektarios Petevinos.
