Omonia secures league lead with victory over Karmiotissa

Omonia Nicosia achieved a decisive 3-0 victory against Karmiotissa Polemidion in the fifth round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan on October 9, 2026. The match took place at the Stelios Kyriakides Stadium, where goals from Brauers, Tankovic, and Satka secured the win for the visitors. Despite a three-week league break and the absence of head coach Henning Berg, who was serving a suspension in the stands, the team demonstrated maturity and tactical discipline.

Following this result, Omonia climbed to the top of the league table, although the team has played one match more than its closest rivals. The win highlights the squad's offensive depth, as goals continue to be distributed across defenders, midfielders, and forwards, contributing to a total of 11 goals scored this season.

Meanwhile, in a separate development within the Omonia organization, Omonia 29M is preparing for a challenging match against league leaders AEL Limassol on October 11, 2026. Fans of Omonia 29M have already purchased all available tickets for the away game at the Alphamega Stadium, where the team aims to rebound from their recent loss to AEK.
