Karmiotissa faces Omonoia in matchday 5 of the Cyprus League

Karmiotissa prepares to host Omonoia today, October 9, 2026, at 19:00 at the Stelios Kyriakides Stadium in a match marking the opening of the 5th round of the Cyprus League. Coach Alexis Garpozis has emphasized the difficulty of this fixture, describing Omonoia as perhaps the best team in the country and a primary title contender.

Heading into the match, Karmiotissa has collected three points from their first four games, a result the team management views as insufficient relative to their performances. The team utilized the recent league break to improve fitness and recover unavailable players. According to the final update, Kyprou and Themistokleous have returned to the squad, whereas Tachtsidis, Malkom, and Ouanmou remain sidelined and are excluded from the plans for this encounter.

Garpozis highlighted that his team is investing in such high-profile matches to gain experience and build a competitive identity. The technical staff has focused on defensive stability and maximizing offensive opportunities during their final training sessions. Karmiotissa remains determined to secure a positive result despite acknowledging the strength of their opponents.
