Ninth annual Ge Neo Epicheirein awards held in Cyprus
On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, the ninth annual 'Ge Neo Epicheirein' (New Entrepreneurship) awards ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia. The event, organized by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) in collaboration with the magazine 'Thessalonikis Dromena', honored twelve young entrepreneurs and professionals. A significant highlight of this year's edition was the inclusion of young expatriate entrepreneurs operating in Greece and the United Kingdom, marking the first time the awards have expanded beyond national borders.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, Michalis Damianou, who represented the President of the Republic. In his address, Minister Damianou emphasized the government's ongoing commitment to fostering a modern and competitive business environment. He highlighted the vital role young entrepreneurs play in improving the country's productivity and economic competitiveness.
The initiative aims to promote the international footprint of Cypriot business talent and encourage dialogue on entrepreneurship across borders. The awards are supported by various entities, including the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, Eurobank Ltd, the Youth Board of Cyprus, the company Coneq, and the Association of Cypriot Cartoonists, with Economy Today serving as the media sponsor.
