Masked intruders rob a couple in Sfalangiotissa, Limassol
In the early hours of Thursday, October 8, 2026, a 36-year-old woman and her 43-year-old husband were victims of an armed home invasion in the Sfalangiotissa area of Limassol. At approximately 3:00 am, five masked intruders, armed with knives and a handgun, entered the residence through an unsecured sliding aluminium window while the couple was asleep. The perpetrators restrained the husband with adhesive tape and forced the wife to open a bedroom safe.
The robbers made off with 5,000 euros in cash and jewellery valued at approximately 200,000 euros. After binding the woman as well, the attackers fled the scene. The victims remained restrained for several hours before managing to break free and notify the police at around 7:00 am. No arrests have been made in connection with this specific incident as of the latest reports, and police are currently examining CCTV footage and evidence collected from the scene.
While local media reported that six individuals were initially suspected, police investigators later confirmed that five masked suspects carried out the robbery. This incident occurred separately from two subsequent robberies reported in Limassol on Saturday, October 10, involving a different gang on motorcycles targeting women in the Agias Sofias street area.
