AEK Larnaca prepares for league return against Omonia Aradippou

AEK Larnaca is finalizing preparations for the 5th round of the domestic championship, scheduled to play against Omonia Aradippou on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 19:00. Coach Ruben Celles has utilized the international break to maintain match fitness through two friendly matches against Nea Salamina and Apollon. These sessions allowed the technical staff to refine tactical automatisms and integrate players needing additional field time, following a period of extended rest for the squad.

Regarding personnel, coach Ruben Celles faces three confirmed absences due to injury: Olivan is sidelined with a muscle issue, Chacon underwent a minor procedure following discomfort, and Amin is out with a foot injury. AEK spokesperson Kyriakos Dimitriou emphasized that the team is approaching the match with focus, avoiding any sense of complacency despite the break. Furthermore, club officials have confirmed that foreign referees will be utilized for the VAR system, a move supported by the collective clubs to improve match standards.

Beyond football, the AEK organization celebrated a recent achievement by its basketball team, which secured a victory against the German side Würzburg in the FIBA Europe Cup, marking a successful start to their European campaign.
