Cyprus U-15 national team prepares for Malta tour and local championship start
The Cyprus U-15 national football team has concluded its preparation for an upcoming trip to Malta, where they will play two friendly matches on October 13 and 15, 2026. National team coach Michalis Ioannou has selected a squad of 21 players representing various clubs including APOEL, Omonia, AEK, AEL, Anorthosis, and others. The delegation is scheduled to depart on October 12, with assembly points organized across the country, including Larnaca Airport and regional stadiums in Paphos, Limassol, and Paralimni.
Simultaneously, the Cypriot U-15 National Championship for the 2026–2027 season is set to begin on the weekend of October 10–11. The tournament features 16 teams and will be contested in two phases. Following 15 matches in the first phase, teams will be split into two groups based on their standings, with points carried over to determine the overall champion in the top group. Matches for the opening weekend are already scheduled, starting with fixtures such as Anorthosis Mouttagiaka against Mundialito and Omonia Aradippou versus ASIL Lysis on Saturday.
