Cyprus U15 national football team to play friendlies in Malta
The Cyprus U15 national football team has completed its preparations for an upcoming trip to Malta, where they will participate in two friendly matches scheduled for October 13 and 15, 2026. This series marks the first international outing for the newly formed age-group squad under the guidance of head coach Michalis Ioannou. The team is set to depart on October 12, following a mandatory assembly at Larnaca Airport.
The official roster includes 20 players selected from various Cypriot clubs, with Omonia Nicosia providing the largest group of five representatives. The delegation will utilize specific transport points in Paphos, Limassol, Paralimni, and Nicosia to gather at the airport before their departure.
Simultaneously, the 2026–2027 U15 Pancyprian Championship is commencing this weekend, October 10–11. The league will feature 16 clubs competing in two phases. In the first phase, teams will play 15 matches, after which they will be divided into two groups based on their ranking. These groups will play another round, retaining their points from the first phase to determine the eventual champion. The season opener features several matchups, including Anorthosi Mouttagiakas against Mundialito and Omonia Aradippou versus ASIL Lysi.
