Omonia player David Akintola ruled out of match against Karmiotissa

Omonia forward David Akintola was declared unavailable for the match against Karmiotissa on October 9, 2026, despite being listed on the official team sheet for the fifth round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan. The player, who traveled with the squad to the Stelios Kyriakides stadium, suffered a last-minute muscle injury that prevented him from participating in the game.

According to official club updates, the injury is not considered serious. While his immediate participation in the ongoing match was ruled out, the medical staff plans to re-evaluate his condition in the coming days. The primary goal is to determine whether he will be fit for Omonia's next league fixture, as initial assessments remain optimistic regarding his recovery time. For the time being, the club's focus remains on his rehabilitation following this sudden setback.
