Anorthosis and Parnassos compete for the 38th Allwyn Super Cup title

The 38th edition of the Allwyn Super Cup men's handball match is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, marking the official opening of the 2026-27 season. The match will be held at the Kition Sports Center in Larnaca at 19:00, featuring a high-stakes competition between Anorthosis and Parnassos.

Anorthosis, coming off a record sixth consecutive league championship, aims to reclaim the Super Cup, a title it dominated from 2021 to 2025. Last year, Parnassos (based in Strovolos) broke this winning streak, securing its third Super Cup title in history, following previous victories in 2018 and 2019. The event remains a highlight for fans as these two teams continue to monopolize local handball trophies.

Historically, the most successful team in the competition is SPE Strovolos, which has won 21 of the 37 titles contested since the tournament's inception in 1988. The upcoming match serves as a pivotal indicator of form for both clubs as they vie for early-season dominance in the domestic handball calendar.
