The Voice production team honors the late Giorgos Mazonakis

On October 9, 2026, presenter Giorgos Lianos appeared on the show Studio stis 3 to discuss the recent tribute episode of The Voice dedicated to the late singer Giorgos Mazonakis. The special episode featured coaches Christos Mastoras, Elena Paparizou, and Panos Mouzourakis, as well as production figures including Giorgos Kapoutzidis, who helped draft the commemorative segments during a difficult and emotionally charged production process.

Lianos described the atmosphere during the preparation of the tribute as initially awkward and lacking clear guidelines, noting that he and the production team had to rely on their instincts to handle the loss. In addition to the tribute, Lianos addressed the process of finding a replacement for Mazonakis’s role on the show. He explained that after careful deliberation and consultation among the production team, the singer Paola was chosen to join the program. Lianos noted that this decision involved sensitive timing and required a delicate approach to recruitment. He expressed personal confidence in Paola’s suitability, citing their previous professional experience together in Thessaloniki and identifying personality similarities between the new arrival and the late singer.
