Weather update for Cyprus and Greece: instability and dust expected
A weak low-pressure system is currently affecting the region, leading to a shift in weather conditions for October 11, 2026. In Cyprus, the day will be partially cloudy with isolated showers and potential thunderstorms expected in the afternoons, particularly in mountainous, inland, and northern areas. Saharan dust is also expected to linger in the atmosphere. Temperatures are forecast to reach 32°C inland, 30°C on the southern and eastern coasts, 28°C on the western and northern coasts, and 22°C in the higher mountains, with winds ranging from 3 to 4 Beaufort.
In Greece, authorities have forecasted a transition towards weather instability, noting that the combination of incoming rain, thunderstorms, and Saharan dust will precede a significant drop in temperatures starting this Monday. Officials have advised citizens to prepare for these rapid changes in regional weather patterns. As the evening approaches in Cyprus, conditions are expected to remain partly cloudy with light winds, as temperatures drop to approximately 18°C inland and 20°C on the coast.
