Man executed in Glyfada shooting

A 52-year-old man was found dead in the early hours of Sunday in Glyfada, near the intersection of Karamanli Avenue and Panagouli Street. The victim was discovered lying next to his motorcycle in a remote area near the Elliniko construction site. Authorities initially responded to reports of a possible traffic accident, but an inspection revealed a fatal gunshot wound to the head. While most reports cite at least five shell casings found at the scene, one source claims eight casings were recovered.

The victim was a known figure with a history of police records, linked to the 'Moschouri' group in a 2015 investigation. Reports indicate he was involved in nightclub security and had connections to underworld figures, including an individual known as 'Thamnakias'. Investigators are treating the case as a targeted, execution-style attack, possibly involving an ambush while the victim was on his motorcycle.

The investigation has been assigned to the Organized Crime Division. Police are currently analyzing CCTV footage and searching for witnesses to determine the motive and identify the perpetrators, while the area remains under guard to preserve evidence.
