Unsettled weather conditions forecast for Cyprus
The Department of Meteorology in Cyprus has issued a forecast for unsettled weather conditions beginning Sunday, October 11, 2026. A weak low-pressure system is expected to bring isolated showers and potential thunderstorms, particularly during the afternoon hours, across the Troodos mountains, inland areas, and northern regions including Kyrenia.
Temperatures on Sunday will reach 32°C inland, while coastal areas such as Limassol, Larnaca, and Ayia Napa will see temperatures around 30°C, and Paphos and Kyrenia around 28°C. Mountainous regions will remain cooler at 22°C. Light dust is expected to persist in the atmosphere throughout the period. Winds will reach moderate strength at 4 Beaufort. Overnight temperatures will drop to 18°C inland, 20°C on the coast, and 10°C in the higher mountains.
The unsettled conditions are expected to continue through Tuesday with localized rain and storms. On Wednesday, cloud cover is predicted to increase further, leading to more widespread rain and isolated storms during the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures are expected to decline starting Monday and then stabilize around seasonal averages for the remainder of the week.
