Cyprus National Guard conducts Iris-2026 military exercise

The National Guard of Cyprus has announced a series of live-fire military exercises designated as the 'Iris-2026' Tactical Troop Exercise (TAMS). The training activities are scheduled to take place at the Kalo Chorio shooting range from Monday, October 12, through Thursday, October 15, 2026. These drills will occur during daylight hours as part of the military's broader operational planning and readiness strategy.

During the four-day period, the General Staff of the National Guard has implemented a strict prohibition on public entry into the Kalo Chorio shooting range to ensure safety. The exercises aim to test tactical plans and procedures within a complex and modern operational environment. Residents are advised to stay clear of the area and remain calm if they hear noise or explosions resulting from the scheduled live-fire maneuvers, which are essential components of the National Guard's professional training curriculum.
