Kalo Chorio primary school celebrates centenary
On the evening of Saturday, October 10, 2026, the primary school of Kalo Chorio in Limassol, Cyprus, celebrated the 100th anniversary of its establishment. The event was attended by the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Athena Michaelidou, who honored the history of the institution.
The school was founded through the personal contributions of locals, led by Papapantelis Michael, and has served as a center for education and culture in the rural area for a century. During her address, Minister Michaelidou praised the dedication of the teachers and residents who prioritized children's education despite the historical challenges of the era.
The Minister used the occasion to reaffirm the government's commitment to modernizing the public school system across Cyprus. She highlighted ongoing initiatives, including investments in digital transformation, curriculum upgrades, teacher training, and the creation of safer, more inclusive, and environmentally friendly educational facilities for all students, regardless of their location.
