Recent discovery of bodies in Limassol, Larnaca and Menidi
Over the past several days, authorities in Cyprus and Greece have reported multiple deaths discovered in residential properties. In Limassol, a 42-year-old Latvian woman with a Cypriot identity card was found dead in her Omonia home on October 10 after neighbors reported a foul odor. Her body was in an advanced state of decomposition; a post-mortem examination is scheduled to determine the cause of death. Similarly, in Larnaca, a 75-year-old German man was found dead in his bathroom in Livadia on October 12 after a process server alerted authorities to a strong smell. Foul play has been ruled out in the Larnaca case, and police investigations remain ongoing for both incidents.
Separately, in Menidi, Greece, police discovered the body of an 89-year-old woman in her home on October 12 following a report from her 69-year-old nephew who heard shouting. The woman displayed visible signs of struggle, and an initial forensic examination suggests she died of asphyxiation on the evening of October 11. Her 62-year-old son, who lived with her and has a history of drug-related police encounters and reported psychological issues, has been detained in connection with the investigation.
