APOEL FC clarifies status of negotiations with Savvas Liasis investment group
APOEL Nicosia is currently engaged in advanced negotiations with an investment group led by Savvas Liasis aimed at restructuring the club's administration and securing financial stability. While local media reports suggested that initial funding transfers had already occurred to cover urgent debts, the club’s board issued an official statement on October 13, 2026, categorically denying that any money has been deposited by the investors to date.
The board confirmed that discussions are ongoing in a positive atmosphere and acknowledged the potential for financial support before a final agreement is reached. However, officials emphasized that any definitive deal must be formally approved by the General Assemblies of both the APOEL football company and the club association. Constantinos Petrides, a key figure in the administration, has expressed optimism regarding the process, noting that there are no significant obstacles remaining.
As of now, the club has urged supporters to rely only on official communications regarding the progress of the deal. Future developments will depend on the finalization of contractual terms and the subsequent approval process by the membership bodies, as the club continues to address its immediate financial obligations.
