Pafos FC defeats Anorthosis 3-1 in Cyprus League

Pafos FC secured a 3-1 victory over Anorthosis on October 11, 2026, during the 5th round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan. The match, held at the Antonis Papadopoulos stadium, was defined by two distinct halves, with Anorthosis leading the first half after successfully executing their tactical plan. However, the game shifted dramatically after the interval, as Pafos scored three goals within a short period to complete a comeback victory.

Pafos coach Ricardo Sa Pinto described the result as fair and credited second-half tactical adjustments for the win. He also offered condolences to his goalkeeping coach, whose father passed away during the match. Conversely, Anorthosis manager Nestor El Maestro expressed significant disappointment, citing defensive concerns and an inability to maintain the team's initial momentum. He emphasized the need for his team to improve their psychological state and address defensive vulnerabilities immediately following this collapse.

Following this result, Pafos continues their positive run in the league, while Anorthosis faces a period of internal reflection to correct tactical errors ahead of their next fixtures.
