Third Zivania Festival held in Giolou
The third annual Zivania Festival took place on Sunday in the village of Giolou, Paphos district. The event served as a celebration of local traditions, viticulture, and the cultural heritage of the Cypriot countryside, focusing on the production process of the traditional grape-based spirit.
The festival was attended by several notable officials, including the government spokesman Constantinos Letymbiotis and the President of the Paphos District Self-Government Organization (EOA), Charalambos Pittokopitis. During the event, Letymbiotis praised the hard work of local producers, linking the drink to the history of the region and the craftsmanship of those involved in the harvest and distillation process. Pittokopitis emphasized that such initiatives are vital for the local community, as they strengthen social cohesion and help preserve the province's gastronomic and cultural identity for future generations.
The event, which has established itself as a recurring institutional celebration, aims to promote regional authenticity and support the local economy. The festival underscores the importance of the Giolou community's long-standing dedication to winemaking.
