Omonia 29M coach comments on AEL defeat

On October 11, 2026, Omonia 29M suffered a 2-1 defeat in an away match against AEL in Limassol. Following the game, head coach Fazio Buyis expressed disappointment with the final result but praised the effort and character shown by his players, particularly in the second half. While the team struggled to maintain possession and create chances in the opening period, they successfully held AEL to a 0-0 draw until halftime.

Despite the loss, tactical analysis suggests that Omonia 29M remained competitive throughout the contest. The team managed to score once and created two additional clear scoring opportunities during the second half. Buyis noted that the team needs to be more responsible and effective to secure points in future matches. This performance, similar to their previous outing against AEK, underscores the team's ongoing effort to remain competitive against higher-budget opponents.

Following the conclusion of the match, the focus for the players and coaching staff has shifted toward their upcoming cup fixture against AEP, scheduled for the following day at 20:00.
