Nicosia hosts major community and arts festivals in October
Nicosia is set to host two significant public events this October, starting with the sixth annual WIP (Work in Progress) Festival, an arts and technology event organized by the CYENS Centre of Excellence. Running from October 16 to 25, the festival features over 60 artists from 15 countries presenting more than 50 works under the theme 'Flows'. Centered in the historical downtown area, the event includes exhibitions, installations, and performances, with an official opening series scheduled for Friday evening.
Following this, the second Nicosia Kids Festival, titled 'An Agalia gia ta Paidia' (An Embrace for Children), will take place on Sunday, October 18, at the old GSP stadium square. Initiated by Cyfield, the festival runs from 10:00 to 19:00 and features a diverse program of theater, dance, magic, and scientific experiments. The event includes a performance by Eurovision artist Antigoni, alongside a special musical show titled 'Anakiklosi' featuring Alex Panayi and Katerina Christofidou. Building on the success of the inaugural edition, which attracted over 6,000 visitors, this year's event emphasizes interactive participation and social solidarity for families.
