U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle refutes allegations of misconduct
U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle has formally refuted allegations of impropriety regarding the use of private aircraft. Through her legal counsel, Jesse Binnall and David M. Schwartz, Guilfoyle denied claims made by businessman Eric Deters, characterizing the controversy as a false narrative surrounding a private financial dispute. The Ambassador maintains that she has strictly adhered to all U.S. State Department ethics regulations.
According to the legal team, Deters owes approximately $150,000 to Guilfoyle for strategic communications consulting and public speaking engagements provided between 2024 and early 2025, prior to her assumption of diplomatic duties. The defense team explicitly rejected allegations of corruption and irregular travel expenses that were previously reported by the Wall Street Journal and highlighted by political figures, including President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
Legal representatives for the Ambassador are now exploring potential litigation to recover the outstanding funds and address the defamatory claims. No further legal actions have been finalized at this stage, but the defense team indicated that they are actively pursuing all available remedies to resolve the financial debt and clear the Ambassador's professional reputation.
